City Telecom HK Ltd. (CTEL) has been in a beautiful rising channel for the last year. As recently as Friday, it broke out on heavy volume with a breakaway gap that took out the Jan and early March highs. Today it followed through with another 68-cent gain on 1.3 million shares. It looks like the top of the channel at 18 is the target shorter-term. Beyond that, 20–21 may be doable.

Houston American Energy Corp. (HUSA) continues to thrust after a nice rising channel accelerated to the upside, and now it looks like this stock is in a run mode. The top of the channel measures around the 21–22 zone, my short-term trading target. Beyond that it looks to me like this could be a stock in the mid-20’s in the not-too-distant future.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) had a big day today up 1.93, almost 10% on 74 million shares, the heaviest volume we’ve seen since last Oct. More importantly, it’s broken out of a long 7-8 month trading range, which was a consolidation of the big run up it had earlier in the year when it ran from under 2 into the 20’s. At this point the stock looks like it could be headed for a target near the 32 range, but my short-term target is 25, secondary target up around the 30 range.

TiVo Inc. (TIVO) had a big day today or at least appears to be in the beginning of a move breaking out of a 2-week falling wedge. Volume picked up to the heaviest level in about seven or eight sessions. The stock jumped 70 cents. Going forward I’m looking for something to test the 18 level again and if it takes that out then something up around 20 – 21.
